Vietnam, Thailand may yet mount a rally

BEIJING (AP) — The death toll from a coal mine explosion in northern China reached 169 yesterday, confirming it as one of the country’s worst mining disasters in decades, as the government reported yet another catastrophe — a flooded coal mine that left 42 miners trapped.
