It’s been reported that Kristine Hermosa has plans of moving over to her home studio’s rival network. GMA- 7. We checked this out with ABS-CBN’s Star Magic and we were told this isn’t true.
The rumor stemmed or was fueled by what Kristine playfully said at the recent press conference for the movie "Enteng Kabesote: The Legend Continues" that she’s moving over to the other network because people from GMA-7 are fun to work with.
"Joke lang ‘yong sinabi nya that she’s moving over dahil masarap katrabaho mga taga-GMA-7," Rikka Dylim of Star Magic said. Kristine was referring most especially to Vic Sotto who’s her leading man in "Enteng Kabesote," an official entry to the forthcoming 2005 Metro Manila Film Festival. Vic is a host of "Eat Bulaga," a long-running show of GMA 7.
One of ABS-CBN’s prized properties, Kristine is one of the most beautiful young faces of Philippine Cinema today, and is also a sought-after product endorser. She’s truly a celebrity whose selling power is strong. No wonder Vic Sotto tapped her to be his leading lady in last year’s topgrossing MMFF entry "Enteng Kabesote: Okay Ka Fairy Ko, The Legend."
Kristine reprises her role as Faye in "Enteng Kabesote: The Legend Continues," an OctoArts/M-Zet Productions’ festival offering. So how does it feel to be playing Faye again?
"Of course flattered and thankful ako at the same time," Kristine said. It’s a big honor and privilege to work with Bossing Vic once again. Everybody knows naman that my Faye character is a much-coveted role. Before me, it was Ms. Alice Dixon and Ms. Tweety de Leon who breathed life into the role. Just the idea of filling in their shoes is already, wow talaga!
"Bata pa lang ako, fan na ako ng original sitcom back in the 80s. I practically grew up with it. I enjoyed every episode. So more or less, I’ve been acquainted with Faye for a long time. Last year when the role was offered to me, I said yes agad. I was certain it would be a fun role to do and it was."
Kristine added: "I’m so grateful to OctoArts, M-Zet and Bossing Vic for getting me again to be part of this wonderful sequel. We’re all very proud of the project. Binusisi talaga ni Direk Tony (Y. Reyes). The storyline is very interesting. The special effects are fabulous. The fight scenes are visually appealing. Tiyak na magugustuhan ito ng mga moviegoers lalo na ang mga kids."
How was it teaming up with Bossing Vic for the second time?
"What can I say but only good words? With Bossing Vic he treats his leading ladies special. Actually, maalaga siya sa lahat sa set. With him around, there’s no dull moment talaga. He’s naturally funny."
According to Kristine, if the public liked their output last year, they’re going to love their second offering even more. Aside from Vic, Alice (she plays Ina Magenta) and Kristine, also in the cast are Melanie Marquez, Toni Rose Gayda, Victor Neri and Jeffrey Hidalgo.
"This is an interesting movie. It was meticulously done. It’s for the whole family. Aside from the spectacular special effects, many Filipino values especially those related to family life, will be shown. I hope the people will support our movie," Kristine concluded.

Beauty at your fingertips!
In ancient times, Chinese women and men grew their nails long as a symbol of their wealth and nobility, an indication of being spared from manual chores. While the sight of long, painted nails continues to connote class in this day and age, the women who wear them certainly do more than just sit pretty.
"A lot of the women who come to the shop are from the corporate world, and they use their hands and fingers to text, type in the computer and sign papers," says Eva Narvaez-Sharma, who pioneered sculptured nails in the Philippines when she opened her Le Charmant (French for charming) branches in Greenhills and Makati in 1980. "Many also cook, wash clothes, play sports, and take care of the house and their family, and their long nails haven’t stopped them from doing so."
Society women and those in the glamorous world of showbusiness have likewise had their high-profile nails enhanced at Le Charmant for good reason. "They are your calling card," says Eva, whose own frosted nails are encrusted with Swarovski crystals. "They transform your hands instantly, making them more elegant, graceful and feminine."
Le Charmant patrons will then be pleased to know the sculptured nails salon is marking its 25th anniversary with a raffle offering free to 50% off on all its nail and spa treatments. The promo, which begins today, Dec. 9, runs till Dec. 31.
Otherwise known as nail enhancement, or the lengthening of one’s natural nail to any desired length and shape through non-toxic, US-FDA-approved chemicals, sculptured nails—be they gel, press-on or the ever-reliable acrylic—are more than just a vanity feature. Nail flaws—from ends that grow every which way but straight, bitten nails, nails blackened from physical trauma or missing nails altogether—are automatically concealed and corrected by a sculptured version, which does not hamper the growth of natural nails. It is sculpted over the nail plate, which is not comprised of living cells, but dead cells. Therefore, the common notion that artificial nails will damage the natural nail is a myth. Nevertheless, it can lead to damage if a certified and trained nail technician does not render the procedure. The process is also fast, thereby enabling clients to achieve the "Perfect 10" in an hour’s time.
"Strong nails are genetic, and few of us are born with them," informs Eva. "So even if you take vitamins and supplements to strengthen them, there’s no way you’re going to get nails of equal length and shape than will sculptured nails." For those with naturally long fingernails, cutting the rest of your nails when one breaks is a thing of the past! Le Charmant can instantly replace the broken nail to its exact shape and length.
Regular maintenance is the key to keeping sculptured nails gorgeous, says Eva. But of course, her loyal clients already know that. "It’s addictive. Once they start, they can’t stop," says Eva of clients who continue to visit Le Charmant at 25 Annapolis St., Greenhills, after all these years. "You can have a beautiful hairstyle and makeup, but your look won’t be complete unless your nails are beautiful, too."
