Here’s a quick recap of just some of her latest tri–media accomplishments: Bianca was the cover girl of FHM’s September 2005 issue, which sold an astonishing 98 percent of its run! Well, come to think of it, we’re not really that surprised, considering how sexy she looked on the cover in that two-piece bikini.
On TV, Bianca was a vital cast member of two of GMA’s most enviable telefantasies: "Sugo," and "Mulawin." She also co-hosts the women’s show "3R," is a regular on "SOP Gigsters," and will soon begin work on a new super secret soap opera.
And movies? She made her silver screen debut via "Birhen Ng Manaoag" last April, and hasn’t stopped making films since, like the comedy hit "Hari Ng Sablay" and the upcoming romance "I Will Always Love You."
And did we mention that Bianca is one of only two stars who is appearing in more than one entry in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival-Philippines? If that doesn’t sound impressive, remember that this is a critical time in the industry when stars count themselves lucky to have made even one movie this year!
Bianca’s two MMFF entries are film version of "Mulawin" and "Ako Legal Wife: Mano Po 4?." In the latter film, she plays Trixia, the pretty daughter of a wealthy Chinoy businessman who is betrothed to Hamilton Chong (John Prats) as part of an arranged marriage. Normally, the union of two people as attractive as those portrayed by Bianca King and John Prats in the movie wouldn’t be a problem, but since "Ako Legal Wife" is a comedy, there’s a big snag: The character Prats is playing is gay!
For her part, Bianca particularly enjoyed one aspect of playing Trixia. "The character I play in ‘Ako Legal Wife,’ Trixia, is a lot like me," reveals Bianca. "On the surface, we both seem prim and proper, but after people get to know us, they’ll realize that we’re just simple people. People have said they’re intimidated by me, but when they find out that I’m a rabid consumer of local showbiz tsismis, and that I like things that others would call baduy, they’re surprised. My favorite scene in ‘Ako Legal Wife" shows me and John Prats talking in swardspeak. That was so much fun to shoot!"
Whether or not Bianca King’s smoldering sexiness is powerful enough to draw out whatever maleness remains buried deep within John Prats’ character is anybody’s guess. But knowing Bianca like we do, we’re betting she gets her man in the end!
"Ako Legal Wife: Mano Po 4" is a Regal Entertainment Production directed by Joel Lamangan. It is an official entry to the 2005 Metro Manila Film Festival-Philippines, and will be shown starting Dec. 25 in selected theaters nationwide. Let the laughter begin!
