It’s not a cut for one of the movie entries for the forthcoming Metro Manila Film Festival but for Alessandra de Rossi, sister Assunta and super-rich haciendero Jules Ledesma, the predictably wacky scene might come this December.
Actually, Alessandra – Alex to everybody and probably ‘smart Alec’ to Jules – is the lead star in "Kutob", an entry to the much-awaited MMFF, but it’s a suspense movie and not a madcap comedy that could happen in real life in that European trip.
"But I might accompany Assunta and her husband (Rep. Jules Ledesma) to Italy in June to visit our family there and to witness the baptism of our youngest sister Isabela," Alex says, apparently looking forward to the trip that could turn out several ways – comedy, suspense or perhaps, drama.
From all indications, Alex has a "kutob" or intuition about what will happen in that long journey and that episode will be revealed when they come back, hopefully as one, happy family.
"Kutob" casts Kapuso Alex with Kapamilya Rica Peralejo and Marvin Agustin. The mix of stars from rival networks GMA-7 and ABS-CBN is good mix of stars that only the likes of Canary Films can put together.
"I like suspense movies that are somewhat real than horror movies," reveals Alex during a recent press conference.
Alex says she is most terrified of movies with scenes that might happen in real life – like say, the Italian trip? – than movies that have ghosts in it.
This is the third movie that Alex, Rica and Marvin have done together under the director Jose Javier Reyes. She will play the role of Mayen, the quirky best friend of Rica’s character in the movie.
Alessandra said that her "kutob" is almost right all the time.
"Ever since I was a child I’m very intuitive. On the other hand, most of the people use their intuition," she says.
She didn’t say if bagging another Best Actress trophy is among her "kutob." But the intuitive light bulb turned bright when she first met current boyfriend, Jeremy Marquez, son of comedian Joey Marquez. "I thought that he was kind," Alex replied to a reporter’s query.
She also talked about how it was like when she saw Jeremy’s two kids, "I only saw them once but I think they’re nice, very quiet."
She recently played Valentina in the highly-rated series of Mars Ravelo’s "Darna."
"I’m not sad that the soap ended but sad because we have bonded with the directors, the cast and the crew," Alex lamented.
However, she is slated to become part of another fanteserye role in GMA-7’s "Etheria."
"I will be good this time," says Alex as she revealed that she had to train in the martial arts of arnis in preparation for her new role in this very much anticipated prequel of "Encantadia,"
After acting with Angel Locsin, girlfriend of ex-bf Oyoboy Sotto, Alessandra will work together with Sunshine Dizon, an ex of Polo Ravales who is likewise her ex.
"I’m OK with the girlfriends of my former boyfriends. There is no conflict between us," she quickly adds.
Except for the holiday tour to Italy, there are no other Christmas plans for Alex.
"I have no plans for Christmas, besides attending the MMFF. I’m not the kind of person who plans where I will go or what I will do, I might spend it alone because I have no family with me," the "Kutob" star reveals.
After making an international movie, making herself busy in the boobtube, and enjoying a flourishing lovelife, 2005 was probably the most colorful year for this multi-awarded actress.
Even though there are no definite plans yet – lovelife and professional career – for Alessandra this coming 2006, she wants to buy a house from what she earned from the past year.
