LAS VEGAS — John Swainson, CA president & CEO, formally unveiled the new identity of CA (Computer Associates International) and its vision on how to help enterprises effectively manage their IT infrastructures in a keynote speech delivered before an estimated crowd of 6,000 people composed of CA customers, partners, employees and the media during the opening day of CA World 2005, the company’s annual premier user event.


At the recent Intel Developers Forum (IDF), top executives of the world’s biggest microprocessor manufacturer unveiled their roadmap on where the future of computing is heading, opening up to the era of multi-core processors and the platforms they enable, take mobile into the mainstream and enable great opportunities for the entire developer ecosystem.


The goal of rapidly increasing Internet usage remains a big challenge as the cost of personal computers and laptops is beyond the reach of an average Filipino.


US-based Cisco Systems said it has created a new way to bring the Internet revolution to the people with a new product line that makes it more viable to deploy wireless, or WiFi, Internet access over vast outdoor areas.


A study conducted by a London-based research company indicated that there is growing optimism in the mobile sector, with 68 percent of survey respondents saying they are more confident about the industry’s prospects in 2006 than they were last year.
