Pierre Cohade, Goodyear president, Asia Pacific Region and David Morin, president and managing director of Goodyear Philippines, led the list of top executives who welcomed the media as well as their business partners in the automotive industry.

The event, dubbed "Goodyear Philippines 50 years: Celebrating life’s journeys," marked the company’s heritage in the Philippine motoring scene and affirmed its vision in providing the best tires for the Filipino consumer.

In recognition of its golden anniversary, Cohade congratulated Goodyear Philippines for successfully pushing forward the brand ideals in the country, as he urged the company to continue its commitment to producing the best tires in terms of safety, technology and innovation.

"It has been an exciting year for the region. We are hitting record numbers in the third quarter of 2005," said Cohade. "A significant part of our present success in Asia can be accounted to our success in the Philippines. In fact, our success in retail in the Philippines is being highlighted as a role model for other Asia Pacific markets."

Meanwhile, Morin stressed that much of the company’s success in the Philippines comes from its commitment to consumers and business partners.

"No other tire company has been more influential in molding every element of the Philippine motoring landscape than Goodyear," he said. "From the time it became the first tire manufacturer in the Philippines when it inaugurated its Las Piñas plant in 1956, the brand has been synonymous with dependability, trustworthiness and great value."

Morin also urged the company and its partners to use the anniversary as an opportunity to look back and recognize the achievements of their predecessors during the past 50 years.

Goodyear also showcased a glimpse of its technology and innovation portfolio with its interactive displays of its Run-On-Flat, Silent Armor, and DuraSeal technologies.
