The recent launch by Microwarehouse of 26 new all-Pinoy podcasts – delivered via its signature Apple iPod product line - has aroused the interest of many on this emerging medium. While the technology spread in the US as early as 2004, it is only now that people in these parts are curious about what podcasting is all about and how it is set up.


Is it a cell phone? Is it a digital camera? Is it a camcorder? These are some of the questions people ask me when they see the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-M2.


I remember well during my post-college years when i first got my hands on my first GSM mobile phone, the Alcatel One Touch Pocket. I was quite happy with the way it works and it looks so cute. The phone is still working up to now, and I find it quite funny that it lasted this long. And by the way, I bought the unit more than seven years ago.


There were two messages, more like stories really, in my email Inbox last week that have been widely circulated in cyberspace which I’d like to share with those of you who do not have emails as a precaution.

When I was given this assignment last December 6, I felt like it was some ordinary routine interview. But, as I was informed that I will be doing an exclusive interview with the two Filipino finalists in the First Time Mobile Filmmakers organized by Discovery Channel and Nokia, I became excited.

Until I attended the launch by Canon Marketing Philippines of its newest product line, I never thought that you can record video clips directly on DVD discs. Thankfully, this is now possible with Canon’s DC10 and DC20 Photo DVs which documents media in both the 8 cm DVD-R/RW and mini-SD card format. This got me thinking that making movies is no longer limited to the professionals but even for amateurs like you and me who need to capture those special moments in our lives with promptness and precision.
