The Department of Transportation and Communications (DoTC), hereby wishes all Filipinos the very best for 2006. Surely, the year 2005 had been fraught with challenges and obstacles for the transportation sector as the country reeled from the ever-increasing prices of petroleum products.
Nonetheless, since the very essence of transportation is MOVING FORWARD, I believe that the tireless men and women of the DoTC, as well as those who serve the public in the department’s attached and line agencies, have met these challenges head-on to help the country cover economic grounds, get past choppy waters, and, hopefully, take off.
I am confident that the DoTC, in support of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s 10-point program, has hurdled these so-called "road bumps" to the satisfaction of the general public and the key movers of the transportation sector.
Rest be assured that I, as well as the people who make up the DoTC, will continue to work tirelessly for the advancement of the transport sector, which is a pillar of any country’s growth and prosperity.
