Fresh hopes of change and renewal for Filipinos
The New Year provides fresh hopes of favorable change and renewal for us Filipinos. The year just past admittedly was a difficult one, with a great part of our energies devoted to coping with controversies and fundamental issues of statehood. We thank God that we have survived with our institutions intact, and the nation still standing.

Three wishes for the Philippines
Peace and prosperity to all of us Filipinos, whether Christians or Muslims, as we herald in a new year and bid goodbye to the rather turbulent year that was 2005. This is the time when we make long lists of resolutions for our individual and collective betterment. I have just three wishes, though, for our country which has been bedeviled for too long now by strife, needless bickering, and intramurals.

Volunteerism, initiatives, courage for the New Year
The year 2005 has been a year of unusually severe natural disasters for the whole world, such as the tsunami, earthquake and the New Orleans flooding. Fortunately, the Philippines was spared such extraordinary natural catastrophes, although we have had our own usual share of calamities, both human and natural. Through the Philippine National Red Cross and other volunteer organizations we have provided help to all those afflicted by the disasters, both here and abroad.

A peaceful, economically conducive 2006
In meeting new challenges in this brand new year, it would be wise for us to pause a moment to examine how we fared in the year that is now relegated to the dustbin of our nation’s history.

Wishing all Filipinos the very best for 2006
The Department of Transportation and Communications (DoTC), hereby wishes all Filipinos the very best for 2006. Surely, the year 2005 had been fraught with challenges and obstacles for the transportation sector as the country reeled from the ever-increasing prices of petroleum products.

A force for peace, change, and progress
The New Year dawns upon the Armed Forces of the Philippines like a well-spring of hope. We welcome the year 2006 with a reinvigorated sense of mission and an eagerness to seize the opportunities this year offers. We look forward, with a renewed strength, to serve and strengthen the soldier’s covenant with the Filipino People and the Republic.

For peace and harmony throughout the new year
As we approach a new year, let me express my profound gratitude to all the officers and the rank-and-file of the PNP who maintain law and order in our communities.
