Technews has reviewed almost all of the latest high technology gadgets for the year 2005. It was a true privileged to test them exclusively in our Technews Testing Area. And to cap the year, we have chosen 15 of the best gadgets that most of our readers liked the most and their all-time favorites.

15. Vodafone 703SH by Sharp
Considered as the lightest Vodafone 3G handset because of its compact size, and weighs only 107 grams, the 703SH fits nicely into the palm of one's hand and features a hip design. The quad-band phone measures 47 x 99 x 23 mm (width x height x thickness). The 703SH is compatible to networks in Japan (W-CDMA) and in other countries (W-CDMA, GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz), and it is user-friendly and full of fun 3G handset. It also has a 2.0-inch QVGA screen (320 x 240 pixels) and a 1.3 MegaPixel camera that is capable of taking pictures to a minimum size of 160 x 120 pixels to maximum of 1280 x 960 pixels.
14. Samsung DVD-HD950 HDTV Compatible DVD Player
This DVD player is part of a new wave of devices that use a digital HDMI connection and upconversion technology to offer improved video quality on their DVI and HDMI-equipped HDTVs. The Samsung DVD-HD950 has the looks of a true A/V component, with a black chassis and silver buttons, almost minimalist-style. It measures about 17 x 3 x 12 inches and definitely fits in any home theater space. It can upconvert using its HDMI output, wherein it can scale standard DVD resolution of 852 x 480 to 1024 x 768, 1280 x 720, or 1920 x 1080.
13. MPIO One FG200 1GB PMP
The somewhat-like-a-9-volt-battery-shaped MPIO One has a 1GB flash memory capacity and measures about 32 mm (width), 55 mm (height) x 12 mm (diameter) and weighs only 34 grams. The MPIO One has a 65K color, 1 inch OLED screen that can show MPEG-4, AVI, WMV and Divx video formats, and this is the window for navigating around the FG200. This cute little baby also has a powerful, built-in FM Radio tuner function that automatically scans your favorite local radio stations, and even pre-set them up to 30 channels.
12. Jabra FS258 Bluetooth Headset
The Jabra FreeSpeak FS258 Bluetooth Mobile Headset is one of the best devices for people who need to keep their hands free to do critical things, like work on a computer, while simultaneously talking to someone on the phone. The patented MiniGels are so cute and well-engineered that they fit well in any user's ear. Call reception has never been this clear and crisp because, with the in-ear MiniGel, you can hear other people's voices better than your average cellular phone.
11. ASUS M303 Mobile Phone
For ASUS, fielding its own mobile phone is a big challenge. It cannot be said that this ASUS phone, designated the M303, is too basic or simple. The M303 has a built-in 1.3 mega-pixel camera with flash which produces impressive images, and it is one cool phone because of its user-friendly MP3 player. One more thing, the M303 has a 128MB mini SD card that provides ample capacity for songs (it can store the equivalent of about 30 MP3 songs), photos and videos.
10. Creative Zen Portable Media Center
I guess you might say, at first impression, that the Zen is a relatively huge device, but the next time you see a kid playing a Game Boy Advance (GBA), pick it up. The Zen is almost the same size as the GBA. Being a PMC, it is equipped with a 3.8" TFT LCD screen. Aside from MP3s, the PMC also supports Windows Media Audio files. As far as video files are concerned, the PMC supports only Windows Media Video files that have resolutions of up to 320x240. But one thing seems to be missing from this device. Can somebody please show me where the heck the stop button is on this thing?
9. Nokia 3230
The Nokia 3230 is one of the slimmest Symbian phones, with a large 2" of display area and a 1.3 MegaPixel camera that takes pretty good pictures. Based on the Series 60 platform, the Nokia 3230 is a tri-band camera phone for GSM/GPRS/EDGE 900/1800/1900 networks. The Nokia 3230 is equipped with a 1.3 MegaPixel camera. It also has an ability to take photos with a maximum resolution of 1280 x 960 pixels and video shots with a resolution of 176x144 pixels.
8. Samsung SGH-D600 2MP Phone
The Samsung SGH-D600 measures 96 x 46.5 x 21.5 mm and weighs only 103 grams. Strikingly enough, its screen size is larger than its predecessor and has a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. The SGH-D600 has a whopping 2 MegaPixel camera (CMOS matrix). It is the first GSM phone to use Picsel Viewer. It is an application that is capable of opening MS Office files like MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat (PDF), graphical and video formats on the phone. The D600 has an integrated MP3 player function, and with two stereo speakers and Sound Mate external speaker compatibility, it gives the phone a unique 3D sound feature.
7. Creative Nomad Muvo2
The Creative Nomad MuVo2 4.0GB is Creative's latest offering in the small, high-capacity portable digital audio player market. The unit is equipped with 4GB of flash memory, capable of storing up to 2,100 songs in WMA format and has USB 2.0 support for quick file transfers. The square-shaped, silver and pearl white MuVo2 4GB is roughly the size of a mini-disk. It has a minimalist look: A small LCD display, two control buttons and connectors for power supply, USB cable and earphones.
6. O2 XDA II Mini
The O2 XDA II Mini is considered one of the pinnacles of the PDA-phone hybrids. This phone is one of the top choices of techies and high-end users around the world due to its limitless potential. It has a 64 MB ROM/RAM Flash memory, Bluetooth and Infrared, an SD Memory Card slot, and has a 1.3MP camera. The XDA II Mini comes with tons of applications that are suited for the busy individual commonly found on a desktop PC such as Pocket Outlook, Word, Excel, IE, MSN Messenger, Active Sync, Windows Media Player, Clearvue PDF and PPT. The XDA II mini allows a user to run a mini office in the palm of one's hand.
5. Sony Ericsson W800i
The strongest reason why you will love this phone are it's features: 2MP camera; Auto-focus camera with photo light for taking pictures and video recording; Stereo FM Radio with RDS; Music player with dedicated play/pause button; 512MB Memory Stick PRO Duo (allowing up to 2GB expansion); Video Player; Dedicated camera button; EMS, MMS and Email support. It's a Tri-band phone and a standby time of up to 400 hours. The phone's design and features will easily tell you that the phone can be used for business and entertainment at the same time. Definitely a phone suited for the modern businessman and the music loving teenagers.
4. Nokia N90
Twist and shoot. The N90 boasts a 2MP camera complete with autofocus, 20x digital zoom and an integrated programmable flash. Much like regular digital cameras, the N90 also has a macro mode setting, capture scene settings and lighting adjustments. Videos, saved in MP4 format, are smooth and clear. Thanks to Nokia's integration with world renowned Carl Zeiss Optics. It has an internal 31MB memory. And if that's not enough, a 128MB RS-MMC (1.8V/3.0V) card comes bundled with the N90's package. It is a bit heavy but, hey, you won't have to bring your other gadgets along.
3. Samsung Miniket
This is Samsung's much-heralded latest gadget, a diminutive powerhouse which boasts of a digital camera with 10x optical zoom, a digital camcorder, an MP3 player, a voice recorder, PC camera and data storage, all rolled into one! The light-as-a-feather Miniket is designed to be ergonomically sleek. The LCD viewfinder with 211K colors is spacious and bright enough for peeking at your subjects. Its 800k pixel CCD can record MPEG4 movie at 720x480 pixels which is the same resolution as DVDs. The 1GB built-in flash memory effectively translates to as much as 130 minutes of video recording and hundreds of 2 megapixel pictures. The fact that it can do so much in such a small package makes it a-m-a-z-i-n-g.
2. iPod Nano
The music player that killed the iPod Mini. Sure, it doesn't have an FM tuner or voice recording, but it does have an unsurpassed interface, excellent sound quality, and an undeniable cool factor. Plus, it's flash-based, so you don't have to worry about skipping or dead hard drives. It measures 0.27 inches by 3.5 inches by 1.6 inches. That's 62 percent smaller than the iPod mini, and it really does fit in the smaller front pocket of your blue jeans without the slightest bulge. A few things changed, but the end result is a spectacular product. Sure, it doesn't have an FM tuner or voice recording, but it does have an unsurpassed interface, a color screen, excellent sound quality, and an undeniable cool factor.

1. Sony PSP
The PSP is not only a game machine, it is also a multi-media player designed for music and movies. This is not only a three-dimensional-CG games console but it is also a portable device that incorporates high-quality, full-motion video similar to the PS2. The Play Station Portable features a large 4.3-inch 16:9 widescreen LCD TFT screen with a 480x272 resolution. The button layout is similar to the PlayStation with a digital control pad, an analog stick, a circle, a square, a triangle, an X, and 2 shoulder buttons. The PSP console supports Wi-Fi wireless connectivity that allows up to 8 PSPs to play together. It uses a new, Sony-developed optical media called the Universal Media Disc (UMD), which offers game software, full-motion video and other digital content. Software and data can also be downloaded to the PSP device using the integrated USB 2.0 port, or via the 32MB Memory stick duo that comes free with the unit.
