The need to learn and speak English is not just a problem in the Philippines but in other countries as well. And the significant rise of call center offices in the country has created a demand for agents with oral fluency and proficiency.
In today's corporate scene, the ability to speak English is an edge when it comes to job applications. But a proficient English speaker leads to better job positions.
Neurolanguage Coporation, an international educational company based in Ottawa, Canada, has recently partnered with Gemini IT Consulting, a Philippine computer software company dedicated to English training skills and making available quality computer-aided education to Filipinos, to provide a better solution to the growing problem of learning English.
Neurolanguage Coporation aims to provide call centers and other institutions in the Philippines an unique English language training solutions which can be customized according to the demands or standards of their clients.
"What our program helps do is help them improve the effectiveness of the English that they do know. Maybe help improve their pronounciation or their oral fluency just so that when they do go apply for a job that has a customer service focus or an international focus, they'll be able to communicate very fluently without any dialects or accents," said Mr. Richard Stanton, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Neurolanguage.
The training program involves various the Neurolanguage E3 Suite - Accelerator, Builder, and Practice - three unique programs that carry different tasks to achieve what they call is "Subconscious Fluency."
The Neurolanguage Accelerator provides participants wit the foundation required to develop subconscious English language processing capabilities. It aims to achieve phonetic awareness, visual decoding, auditory visual processing and phonics.
On the other hand, the Neurolanguage Builder increases the effectiveness of other English language courses by providing extensive real-world content and practive exercises that build in depth and complexity. This program focuses on vocabulary development, phrases, paragraph comprehension, idioms and meaning and whole document comprehension.
And there is the Neurolanguage Practice that uses the latest recognition tools to help participants improve upon both oral pronounciation and auditory recognition of the English language. This interactive technology will harness oral pronounciation, vocabulary development, oral speed and fluency, and listening strategies.
The Neurolanguage English learning program, according to Stanton, will not replace current English training programs or courses offered in the different institutions.
"It's really meant to supplement and compliment what's being done in there" said Stanton. "The same with students who've studied English, you know, maybe they've taken a Berlitz course or one of these other things. Those are all excellent programs and we're not trying to say 'stop that'."
