Ran out of ports? Use an USB hub
Most digital equipment and computer paraphernalia nowadays come with USB cables. Chances are you might soon run out of USB ports in your computer which normally have two to four USB ports only. If you have a USB mouse, keyboard, and printer that would leave you with just an extra port.
But what if you need extra ports for a webcam, digital camera, and other devices? Don’t worry. Instead of adding more ports to your CPU, try using a USB hub instead. This was what happened to me last week. I got a bit problematic when I ran out of a USB port for the printer because my home PC only has four USB ports all connected to a device. Trying to avoid additional stress, I did some house cleaning and found a UDB hub hidden under a shelf. That was the answer to my problem!
What I have has four USB ports and one USB B female connector, and has the size of a yoyo. The hub is compatible with most operating systems even with earlier versions of Windows. It truly has a plug & play configuration.
I guess a USB hub is very affordable because the one I have was given to me as a token for attending an event and it was really an appreciated gift and useful at that.
While the hub is a generic one, it claims to chain up to 127 devices. How does this happen? Well, it’s pretty simple: most USB-enabled devices and paraphernalia have their own USB ports. To make a daisy-chain, cables are plugged into these ports one after the other but I really don’t think I need to connect that many devices.
All that remains are the devices I need to hook up. Maybe I should turn our house upside down, inside out. I just might discover more useful things I’ve taken for granted.

Here’s looking forward to a great year ahead for all of us! Keep safe!
