ILOILO CITY (PNA) — Ambassadors of Israel and Sweden will lead the list of dignitaries who will grace the annual Iloilo Dinagyang festival slated on January 28-29.
Ambassadors Yehoshua Sagi of Israel and Annika Markovic of Sweden have confirmed their arrival.
Sagi will be joined in by his wife and attache Ziv David.
Other foreign guests who confirmed their attendance are Nigerian Charge d’Affaires Dada Olisa, United States Consul General Richard Haynes, US Embassy Anti-Fraud Division Chief Matthew Taylor and Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JICA) consultant Nozaki Seiki.
National officials who are coming for the festivity include Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez, Senior Deputy Executive Secretary Waldo Flores, Transportation and Communication Secretary Leandro Mendoza and Senators Francis Pangilinan, Edgardo Angara and Jamby Madrigal.
Dinagyang Committee on Invitation chair Francis T. Cruz said the foundation is expecting an increase in the number of VIPs as they are still waiting for more confirmation.
Based on experience, he said, most of the confirmations would come in one to two weeks before the activity.
Committee on Reception chair Tess Cataluña said they are hoping that the warm reception the guests will be getting from the foundation will be translated into an image that would make the city as the main entry point of foreign investors.
