World Citi Colleges recently hosted the opening ceremonies of the Men’s National Collegiate Athletic Association (MNCAA), now on its 2nd season, continuously promoting camaraderie and unity among its member schools. The theme for the season was entitled,"Games…Greatness…Glory," which connotes the feeling of athletes as they participate on the different games in the league.
The different events include basketball, volleyball, badminton and futsal (Indoor Soccer), with a total of 12 different schools battling for the crown, that include AMA Computer University, Angelicum College, Chiang Kai Shek College, De La Salle Santiago Zobel, La Salle College of Antipolo, Lourdes School of Quezon City, Rizal Technological University, San Beda College of Alabang, Siena College Quezon City, St. Stephen’s High School, University of Asia and the Pacific, and World Citi Colleges.
The event commenced at Blue Eagle Gym of Ateneo de Manila University, with Harry Corro of Magic 89.9 as master of ceremonies. The event was also graced by the presence of Vince Hizon, the guest speaker for the ceremony. Hizon delivered an inspirational speech about the importance of sports and achieving what is both greatness and glory through games.
After the ceremonies, the first game was played with the WCC Senior Vikings playing against the Rizal Technological University Technocrats and the second game with the WCC Junior Vikings playing against the St. Stephen High School Junior Redstorm. Both the seniors and juniors of World Citi Colleges dominated in their games, emerging victorious by the end of the day.
WCC provides full scholarship and special privileges for all its athletes in any event.
