Anomaly in the MMFFP awards?
learly there’s an anomaly in the process!"

‘Beautiful Boxer:’ Fighting to become a woman
There’s a reason why boxers are called "prize fighters." The plum cash reward is enough motivation for any kid from the slums with a rock solid first to get his body all beaten and bruised up on the ring. For others, the money is only the first step to real prize. Depression era boxer James Braddock, whose life was recently celebrated on film, stunned reporters when he revealed what made his second win possible: "Milk. I’m fighting for milk." But if that still doesn’t knock the wind out you, you haven’t heard of Parinya Charoenphol whose real life story is featured in the new film "Beautiful Boxers."

Music, love, and dreams in ‘Now and Forever’s’ ‘Tinig’
Listen to the voice of your heart as today’s favorite afternoon drama series on television, "Now and Forever," plays the music of life with the show’s newest season resonating deep secrets, love conflicts and a battle for stardom.

MMFF awards night booboos
Angelica Jones came at the Aliw Theater for the MMFF awards night in a knock–out, super sexy gown, the way Rosanna Roces used to wear in awards events. So everybody thought aside from her nomination for best supporting actress (for "Lagot Ka Sa Kuya Ko"), she might be a presentor. Then again everyone was wrong. Because Angelica stayed glued to her seat until the end of the four-hour show.

A slightly different DK returns
Sound off:

The 1st Philippine jazz festival
For the first time in the country’s music scene, an international jazzfest will be held in true Woodstock fashion. The 1st International Jazz and Arts Festival will run for four consecutive days—kicking off with a street party at The Podium on Friday, Jan. 20 and finishing at the Greenbelt Fountain on Monday, Jan. 23. The main event, however, will take place simultaneously in the Airport Casino Filipino Amphitheater and on two stages at the Harbor Square CCP, with uninterrupted performances from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. the following day.

‘Blue Moon’ was best picture; ‘Kutob’ pulled an upset at the 31st MMFF awards night
Just a few minutes before the mid-night of January 6, Teresa received what was probably the most meaningful text message in her journey as a mother who had an unconditional belief in her son, long before his talent was recognized by fans and studio executives. The message was a simple three-letter-word that spelled "Ako!" (Me). It was from a real Cinderella man, Marvin Agustin heralding to his mother that he is the latest addition in the roster of best actor winners in the 31-year old Metro Manila Film Festival.

A peek into Pupil
By this time it is more obvious than daylight that the band scene is in for a long upswing. So here’s the deal for new groups breaking into the foray: Swim or sink.

Managing and developing ‘kapuso’ talents
From their various shows, it could be seen that GMA Network has a stable of truly gifted and disciplined talents. This is credited the network’s Artist Center.
