Investigators from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) yesterday said they are still conducting a manhunt against the alleged "contractor" in the killing of Pasay City Judge Henrick Gingoyon.
NBI National Capital Region Director Ruel Lasala said they are now looking for a certain Allan Abdulkadir, alias ‘’Hadji Alimuddin’’ or ‘’Alimuddin Manguka.’’
Lasala said Task Force Gingoyon has already conducted a followup operation at Abdulkadir’s supposed houses in Las Piñas and Cavite but failed to locate him.
He said Abdulkadir was implicated in the murder based on the testimonies of six suspects under the NBI’s custody.
He described ‘’Alimuddin’’ to be around 34 years old, 5’6'’ tall and with a receding hairline. Abdulkadir is said to be a native of Maguindanao.
Lasala said during their follow-up operation at the suspect’s house, they were able to recover the blue Enduro-type motorcycle which they believed was used in the killing. He said the motorcycle might have belonged to Abdulkadir.
He said Abdulkadir’s arrest would be crucial since he was the one who had direct contact with the mastermind.
‘’If the group had no ‘layering,’ then we are down to arresting only two more suspects,’’ Lasala said.
He also said that so far, ‘’no single evidence has been recovered that will link Police Supt. Manuel Barcena to the killing.’’
The NBI has already filed a murder case before the Imus Prosecutor’s Office against the six arrested suspects.
Lasala said one of the suspects, Rudy Baclor, could become a state witness as he was just the alleged lookout in the killing.
Gingoyon, who was killed on New Year’s eve, was known as the judge who handled the controversial Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 case, and his decision in the case had been upheld by the Supreme Court.
