Dr.J: Before you even change your printer port, have the service center test your printer first if it is working.  Then have your printer port tested by attaching another printer.  If everything still fails, have them check your settings.  Check your printer properties, your parallel port settings and your printer drivers.  Check if there are conflicting devices.   Remove temporary files and spool files.  If everything is working fine and you are certain that the problem is caused by the printer port - I suggest that you use your USB port instead and buy an USB to Parallel/Serial adapter or buy a new printer that supports USB.  Buying a new printer is cheaper than changing your motherboard.

Dr. J: The answer to all your questions is YES, you can do them all.  You can control the file size that they download and even upload, you can restrict the sites that they can visit.  I suggest that you do all these in moderation.  Total restriction is not healthy.  You can put some time constraints in your network - give some leeway during lunch breaks.  You can also view the network logs and call their attention if they did something against your policy.

Lastly, I do not want to sign up for membership for an antivirus I am using which is expiring this month. I am using PC-cillin now so I have to switch to Norton. Dr. J:  Press F2 while your PC is checking your memory (RAM), you can set your time there.  If after doing this your date still resets to January 1, 1997, have your battery change.  With regards to your question, uninstall your previous anti-virus application before installing a new one.

Question: How come I can not burn it to a previously written CD-RW but I can burn to a fresh CD-RW.  I can't overwrite or add more data even there's still space with old CD-RW.  Is there something wrong with my CD drive or am I using an inferior CD-RW?  Thank you. - Carol Gutierrez.

Dr. J:  You need to erase the content of your CD-RW before you can write onto it again.  Don't forget to backup the content before erasing.  If you want to be able to add more information to CD-RW with content already, you must not finalize the disc when you're writing onto it.  The only disadvantage of not finalizing a CD-RW is you may not able to read it n a different system.
