Aiming to enhance the leadership potentials of public school educators and administrators, Department of Education (DepEd) Undersecretary and Officer-in-Charge Fe Hidalgo has enjoined school leaders and managers to participate in the upcoming international education conference dubbed "Leadership Styles Across Cultures," slated on January 16 to 21, at the Baguio Country Club in Baguio City.
Tagged as the First International Learning Styles Leadership Conference (lLSLC), the conference will be graced by educators from different countries to discuss "Improving Quality in Educational Systems" in the first strand set on January 16 to 18. The multisector strand is slated on January 19 to 21 with the theme "Championing Change and Innovation for effective Organizational Effectiveness." Both strands are open to educators.
In DepEd Memo 361 series 2005, Hidalgo underscored the importance of learning new concepts and techniques in teaching Filipino children.
"The conference complements the department’s vision to assist the Filipino child to discover his/her full potential in a child-centered and vaJue-driven teaching-learning environment and thereby, enabling him/her to create his/her own destiny in global community," Hidalgo wrote.
The conference convenes some of the world’s experts in the Learning Styles theory to offer their well-researched and widely studied ideas. The said conference hosted by the International Learning Styles Network (ILSN) is a global group of 27 international institutions whose primary mission is to foster lifelong academic, intellectual and personal success through the promotion and dissemination of research, information, publication and other resources on learning, teaching and productivity styles.
