The Ford Escape NBX is the latest vehicle to take advantage of Ford Motor Company’s new global four-cylinder engine family. The available Duratec 2.3-liter double-overhead cam rounds up 153 horsepower and 152 foot-pounds of torque, mated with a relatively light body. To the driver, that means noticeable fuel efficiency and driving dynamics. The 2.3-liter is paired with a newly available four-speed automatic transmission.

The newly-configured NBX allows its owner to enjoy features available only in the high end 3.0L V6, AT, 4X4 Ford Escape XLT, such as leather seats and trims in beige, sporty 16inch aluminum wheels, chrome tailgate garnish, as well as an NBX glass badge, while enjoying the efficiency and brisk driving of the Duratec 2.3L engine. When properly equipped, the Escape NBX tows 1,500 pounds.

Tan leather and molded seat foams allow more comfortable front seats in the Escape, which is especially helpful in long drives, and the rear seat on all models is split 60/40 and folds flat for added cargo capacity. The Escape boasts approximately one cubic meter of cargo space when the rear seat is fully upright; 1.87 cubic meters are available when it’s folded, so there’s plenty of room for all your stuff.

The Ford Escape NBX is next in a line of Ford Motor Company vehicles to come standard with the Personal Safety System— this mark of Ford’s concern for passenger safety, is also one of the industry’s most comprehensive suites of safety and security technologies. The four-wheel Anti-lock Braking System adds security when going off to that isolated cove or when you need immediate stopping power over a muddy slope while also allowing you to steer toward firmer ground.

Working alongside the ABS is the Brake Assist feature on the Escape NBX. This minimizes braking distance and even aids in stopping the vehicle by compensating for weak pedal effort, thus, averting accidents.

Driver and Front Passenger Airbag Supplemental Restraint System prevent injury to driver and the front side passenger, in case of straight-on frontal collisions at speeds higher than 20 kph. Inflating with less force than old generation airbags, they reduce the risk of airbag deployment injuries.
