UP College of Music dean tenor Ramon Acoyno welcomes 2006 with new performances…
On Jan. 21, Acoymo will perform the song cycle "Stories of Love," at the St. Paul Fleur-de-lis Auditorium, which he premiered at the Lincoln Center of the Performing Arts in New York.
This will be followed by a morning recital on Jan. 23, 10 a.m. at the PWU with dean Harold Galang.
A performance at the Sta. Isabel anniversary at the CCP on Jan. 26, follows.
On Jan. 29, the tenor will perform the excerps of Leoncavallo’s "I Pagliacci" at the CCP and Filipino art songs in Batangas for a lecture-recital by Dr. Elena Mirano.
On Jan. 30, Acoymo sings at Merk’s bar and restaurant in Greenbelt as part of Mowelfund’s fund-raising activity.
Dean Acoymo then leads the UP College of Music on Feb. 11, with the kick-off concert celebrating the 90th year of the institution at the CCP Main Theater at 8 p.m. entitled "A College for the World."
The concert will highlight what has been the college’s performances and academic presence in some 45 countries on six continents of the globe.
