‘Little Big Star:’ A peak into the country’s next premium artists Work usually takes me away from the boob tube, so watching TV shows in the afternoon till prime time is a rarity for me. That’s why when ABS–CBN invited me and other entertainment writers to watch "Battle of the Stars of the Month" of the singing contest "Little Big Star" live, I took it as an opportunity to catch up with my derailed TV viewing. The result was total amazement and awe as the young contestants blew our minds off with their superb singing prowess!
‘Concert at the Park’ features Dick Zamora’s music The music of Dick Zamora, composed over the past six decades and which is part of the Philippines’ musical heritage, has now been rendered into a cassette disc.

UST students pick best TV shows, hosts The University of Santo Tomas (UST) will honor the choices of television programs and personalities of its students for 2005 during the awarding ceremonies of the 2nd USTV Students Choice Awards on Jan. 20, 6 p.m. at the UST Medicine Auditorium, España, Manila. UST Rector Rev. Fr. Tamerlane Lana, O.P. will lead the awarding ceremonies.
German music, docu films at The Podium Mallgoers at The Podium recently had a glimpse of Germany’s music and films during a performance by upcoming jazz artist Ester Kaiser and a special screening of three award winning documentary films, both held in line with the German month celebration.
A-1 performers in Canseco tribute An impressive list of A-1 performers has joined the Canseco tribute concert slated on Jan. 27 at the PICC no less. This is a repeat of the highly successful "Paano Kita Mapasasalamatan," which was in honor of the late George Canseco, composer of OPM classics like "Ngayon at Kailanman" (popularized by Basil Valdez) and "Dito Ba?" (popularized by Kuh Ledesma who spearheaded the concert tribute).
