Businessman George Yang, franchise holder for McDonalds in the country, is putting up a P1-billion destination mall which will feature a three mall concept: Auto Mall, Fusiontech Mall, and Wellness Mall.
David Wuson, corporate planning head of MC Mall Inc., said the company’s new project was encouraged by the success of MC Home Depot, another project of MC Mall. Yan is chairman of MC Mall Inc.
Dubbed "Silver City," the three-concept mall is located in a five-hectare lot in Ortigas along C-5.
According to Wuson, the Auto Mall is expected to be operational in June this year while the Fusion by 2007 and the Wellness Mall by 2008.
Under the plan, the company is targetting 70 percent of auto brands to have presence in the Auto Mall that is patterned after the international motor shows like the one in Tokyo.
The Auto Mall is envisioned to be a glass-convention type architecture which will have 80-100 brand new cars on display.
While car assemblers and dealers are open to the idea, the only hurdle being looked at is the issue of territory since auto sales are largely territorial basis.
The Auto Mall features a one-stop-shop concept where other requirements, the interests and hobbies of a motor enthusiast are considered.
For instance, the auto mall will have the presence of the Land Transportation Office, car parts and accessories, banks and financial services, insurance companies, sports lifestyle boutique, motorbikes and jet ski products, events center, etc.
The Fusion-tech Mall has an anchor 10,000 square meter with call center operations as its anchor. It will be surrounded by technology-oriented retail locators including telecommunications, IT and computer products, consumer’s electronics and appliances.
The Wellness Mall is a 3-storey venue providing a holistic culture of products and services towards customer’s wellness and lifestyle.
Available locators would be doctor’s clinics with beautiful and spacious waiting lounges; complete array of medical services. Medical retail and fitness gym and space would also be locating in the Wellness Mall.
So far, the Belo Medical has already expressed interest locate in the Silver City.
Slots at the mall are being sold at P800 to P1,200 per square meter.
