On January 28 and 29, at The Fort Central Gateway, in Ft. Bonifacio and again on April 22-23 and April 29-30, motorists, car and motorcycle enthusiasts will get the chance to view the latest cars and accessories in a convenient single display area.

"For those who wish to purchase a new car or motorcycle, this is the best place to compare models with all dealers in one big venue," said Gerry Aquino, project director of the awards.

Starting on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., the public can test drive the latest car models for a full appreciation of the vehicle. And the chance to meet fellow automobile enthusiasts, learn trends and accessories on how to improve the look of their car, but most importantly, guests can select and cast their vote for the People’s Choice of car or motorcycle models of the year.

This year, manufacturers will be vying for the 2006 Model of the Year Award. Cars compete in 13 categories from sub-compact, compact, mid-size and large sedans, sports cars, diesel and gas AUVs, compact, mid-size and large SUVs, mini and full-size vans, pickups.

The overall winner, the model with the most votes will be awarded the "2006 Auto Focus People’s Choice Automobile of the Year" award. Those who wish to participate can either vote through SMS, or by logging on to the Auto Focus website. Ballots will also be available at the event venue.

The motorcycle category was added this year because of the huge growth of the industry. Interested buyers can test drive the models provided by Honda motorcycles in a confined section of the exhibit area.
