Each year, thousands finish high school but out of these graduates, only 50 percent are able to proceed to college. This staggering percentage is brought about by the average family’s inability to afford their children of a decent, solid tertiary education. As a result, many of these young hopefuls become illiterate thus hindering them from attaining a good career and eventually, a better future.
Providing a solution for this growing predicament is Manila Business College, an institution with a vision to provide quality education for the masses. Established just five years ago in the bustling Sta. Cruz area, Manila Business College’s mission is to train young individuals to become future entrepreneurs or successful individuals in the field of business. They offer a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) degree with majors in Marketing, Management, Banking & Finance, Economics, and Human Resource Development. Backed by topnotch professors in their faculty, MBC is already a growing player in the academe because of its recent successes.
To support the underprivileged youth, MBC has recently introduced the K.E.I. program--Knowledge, Experience and Income, in which, for a low down payment of five hundred pesos, the student can be enrolled to the full academic program for three years with a Bachelor’s degree. In the program, MBC will train the student entrepreneurial skills such as prospecting, inviting, selling and marketing then link them to its direct-selling program so as they can earn while immersed in their studies. The result? A college degree with lots of business experience and even money in their pockets!
This breakthrough program has been strongly endorsed and widely received by the Department of Education and has been viewed as a very beneficial system in the educational development of the student. Immediately after graduation, these students are now trained and fully-empowered to become entrepreneurs and contribute to nation-building.
"Our desire in MBC is to level the playing field and give the masses a fair chance to succeed in business like other entrepreneurs," explains MBC executive vice-president Steve Ding. "We believe that this is one way in helping young people achieve both – a college degree and know-how in business, something that is very relevant and needed for the country today. As more entrepreneurs are developed, more jobs are provided and the nation will benefit in different proportions. We see the potential of the youth today and if we can provide the tools for them, then we’ve done our part," says Ding.
As the Philippines aims to resurge as a strong nation in the Asia Pacific region, MBC believes that they are doing their part by providing quality education for tomorrow’s future leaders.
