Proud to be Assumptionists!
spacer

The younger generation of Assumptionists is living up to the college’s tradition of excellence. It is no wonder that they are already making their mark, blazing their own trail, spelling the difference and drawing the line between mediocrity and achievement. With an astounding 96 percent rate of employment among its graduates only six months after their graduation, Assumption graduates are definitely among those most sought after by employers both here and abroad.

WOMEN OF FAITH, WOMEN OF ACTION.
Marilou Diaz-Abaya, Nobel prize
nominee, Sr. Remedios Carmen Locsin,
Mo. Teresa awardee, and Teresita Sy
Coson, voted by Fortune Magazine to
be among the most powerful women
in business.

Consider Andrea Raceli David and Ma. Regina Isabel Calderon of the School of Business who were voted as the top interns by the prestigious Citibank Corp. for two successive years, outranking other student trainees from the country’s top universities.

Kristine Marie Ignacio and Marie Elena Gomez, both of the AB Interior Design class won the gold medal and the bronze medal, respectively, at the International Students Design Workshop in Osaka, Japan.

Assumption Media Production seniors Isa Bautista, Dion Alarcon, Angel Gamboa, and Cathy Giron produced an 18-minute documentary entitled, "Mayin Pagbabayu" (a kapampangan word for "Mayroon Pagbabago"), a poignant depiction of the Aetas’ struggle to attain equality and integrity in modern society. At the awards ceremony of the Catholic Mass Media, the film won praise for "Best Student TV Production." Two of the girls are now based in the United States and Australia. They all agree when Isa says "Four years in Assumption has taught us social responsibility. It’s the greatest thing we learned…"

Jennifer Teves from the Department of Psychology was named one of the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines and recently became the Benigno Aquino awardee for Nationalism. "If there’s one thing I owe Assumption," says Jennifer,"it is that it has allowed me to look deeper into myself." She also names two things Assumption has impressed upon her: passion for any undertaking and doing things in the name of service.

The Assumption Advertising and Public Relations juniors conceptualized various marketing proposals to promote virgin coconut oil when they joined the Philippine Association of National Advertisers (PANA) Foundation Marketing Communications Competition. The block won third place and for the third consecutive year, Assumption College continues to be the only women’s college to enter the top five slots.

Assumption College remains steadfast in its mission of training today’s achievers into tomorrow’s leaders, inculcating in its girls a passion for commitment so deep that it stays embedded for the rest of their lives, branding all their work. "Aim high. Believe in your vision. Succeed in your goals," Assumption exhorts its girls. And they go out into the world doing just that.
