RP’s only high school with ICT curriculum gets ‘smart’
Olongapo City National High School (OCNHS), the only secondary institution in the country that has a special ICT curriculum, took a step farther in strengthening the ICT skills of its students when it formally joined last January 25 the list of beneficiaries of the Smart Schools Program.

Since the awarding of the 3G licenses late last year, engineers from the recipient companies – Smart Communications, Globe Telecom, Digitel Philippines, CURE (Connectivity Unlimited Resources Enterprises) — have become the busiest people in this part of the earth.
Former NTC chief files bill to create new telecom body
Cebu Rep. Simeon L. Kintanar, a former chair of the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), has set a public hearing on February 1 for a bill he filed reorganizing the regulatory body into a new agency called National Information and Communications Commission or NICC.
Bank acquires APC InfraStuXure solution to run its data center
Addressing the need for constant IT infrastructure availability, RCBC Savings Bank (RSB), recently acquired American Power Conversion’s (APC) InfraStuXure to ensure high availability for services provided by its in-house data center. This move was meant to enhance RSB’s on-line tellering and loan systems, ATM, network, server, PBX, e-mail and Internet capabilities for its branches. In line with this, the bank also underwent systems integration and branch rationalization with its mother bank, Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation.
