Say’s World

By ANTONETTE R. VALDEZ

Ever since she stepped out from the Big Brother house after living in it for 104 days, Say Alonzo Yutadco, or Say Alonzo to "Pinoy Big Brother" (PBB) viewers, says her life has become ‘’excitingly busy.’’

In fact, if not for this interview which required her to be home, Say tells Manila Bulletin that she can’t be caught being so laid back.

"The day after I was evicted from the Big Brother house, I guested on ‘ASAP’ and then proceeded to ‘The Buzz.’ I’ve been busy since then," says Say.

Yet she says, two months after being in showbiz, everything that is happening hasn’t totally sunk in her system yet.

What is ironic is that Say is enjoying her life now after PBB even though not everything about it is clear to her.

"I still don’t understand kung bakit nagpapa–picture ang mga tao sa akin pag nakikita nila ako but I like the feeling. Nowadays, despite my busy schedule, I really make time to talk to them. I keep the letters that they send to me. I also keep the gifts that their parents send to me," she states with much enthusiasm.

Say arranges all her fan mails in a pink scrapbook which she made herself. Seen atop her pink dresser in her ultra–pink bedroom are beautiful bracelets given to her as gifts by the parents of her young fans.

"Most of my fans are 13–year–olds," quips pretty Say whose small body frame would make you think she’s only in her teens when in fact she’s already in her 20’s.

EVERYTHING PINK

Aside from her room’s powder pink walls, beddings, canopy (courtesy of ABS–CBN’s "At Home with Charlene" when they went over her place to fix it up), and drapes, other objects inside that come in the color pink are displayed on her green bedside tables. Found on her right bedside table are stubby candles, a small satin jewelry box wherein she puts the jewelry given to her by her fans and a tiny vase that holds pink and green artificial sunflowers.

On her bedside table are study tapes for "ASAP Fanatics," a round box containing her pictures which she gives to fans and iPod accessories.

Say loves magazines, where she says she gets ideas on the latest in fashion. All kinds of magazine titles can be found on a mat in the visitor’s area of Say’s room.

At the moment she can’t get her hands and eyes off her favorite book.

"This is my favorite book. It’s called ‘Confessions of an Heiress’ and it was written by Paris Hilton herself. I love her because she’s so girl–y just like me. This was given to me by Toni (Gonzaga)," shares Say.

Trying to fit into her new world, which is show business, and getting along with the people in it do not require much effort from Say. She claims that it’s always been her dream to be with and in front of people. That’s why she couldn’t hold her excitement when it was time to talk about working on TV.

"Before I joined PBB, I was in a call center. I quit my job because I was really bored. I told myself ‘this job is not for me. I should be in front of people!’ That’s why when ‘Pinoy Big Brother’ advertised a phone number that you can call if you’re interested in joining the contest, I dialed it right away. Now I get to do what I’ve always wanted to do. That’s why I believe that you should always know what you want in life and go for it," she reasons.

Say is regularly seen on ABS–CBN’s "Pinoy Big Brother Buzz" every Sunday and "Wazzup Wazzup" on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
