President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo offers a toast to Indian President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam during the state dinner she hosted in honor of the visiting Indian leader at the Rizal Hall of Malacañang Saturday night. President Arroyo said Kalam’s visit highlighted the close ties between the Philippines and India. The two leaders agreed to expand and strengthen relations between the two countries on defense and security, tourism, agriculture, and the supply of low-priced quality medicines from India. The Indian President is scheduled to address a joint session of Congress at the Batasan Pambansa in Quezon City at 2 p.m. today. (Ramon I. Samson)
