Broken Silence I have a confession to make. I have dissociative amnesia. Technically speaking, I do not have enough proof to support this claim but that’s the least I could do to justify the odd experiences I had. It was just recently that I learned about the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual on Mental Disorders IV or the DSM IV. This is an instrumental guide of psychologists that defines symptoms of mental disorders into their proper classification. Some of the symptoms enumerated unfortunately match with my childhood experience. I must admit I still lack a lot of evidence to dismiss my case of having dissociative amnesia. For all I know, this mental disorder could be far worse than I can imagine. Since I still find all things in my life manageable, I subjected myself to a continuum of self-observance. With the hopes that all my delusions will dramatically reduce, I resorted to uplifting my social life as my last recourse. Knowing that it’s an unforgivable blunder to make stories about weird and bizarre things, I was quite apprehensive to disclose this psychological disorder to other people.
