It's another slide phone from Samsung, which is probably an upgrade to the D500. Though I'm not a fan of camera phones, this one caught my ears instead.
The unit that we got was a black one, displaying a sleek, stylish, and professional look. Despite the serious appearance, the D510 is actually a combination of professionalism and fun.
The one that caught my ears was the MP3 player of the D510. This will be the most favored feature of music lovers. You can listen to your favorite MP3 files here. And with the phone having a microSD (TransFLash) memory card slot, you can listen to as much music as you want. File transfer is easy via Bluetooth, infrared port, or USB.
The phone's layout is not that far from the D500, although the keypad, as you look at it for the first time, is somewhat similar to another phone of a different type.
I find it a little hard to press the keypad buttons; maybe because I'm used to bar-type phones. But as they say, use it more often and you'll get used to it. The D510 might seem too thick but it only weighs 100 grams and it feels just right in your pocket.
It also has a 1.3 mega pixel camera with flash which you can use for both photos and videos depending on your needs. As you use the camera, you have the option to use different effects for the pictures and videos you will get. I kind of liked the negative effect which reminded me of Fiona in panic in the game "Haunting Ground."
With the D510, you can do a lot of customizations. This is probably what a lot of users are looking forward to since being "unique" is becoming a trend in the mobile phone scene.
In this case, I turned the D510 into the ultimate "anime" phone by replacing the wallpaper with a GIF image of a Japanese video game character, changed the alarm tone, ring tone, and message alert with different Japanese pop and rock music.
The D510 has three cool JAVA games to entertain gamers. They can play either Forgotten Warrior (an adventure game), Free Kick (a soccer game), and Archangel (a flight, shooting game). In case you want more games, you can choose from a variety of JAVA games to download at www.ph.samsungmobile.com
Aside from fun features, the D510 is still armed with GPRS, a converter, a voice recorder, a WAP browser, an alarm clock, and a calendar. The calendar can also be used as a scheduler so that you'll never miss appointments and important dates. What else can you get from a tri-band phone?
I would say that the Samsung SGH-D510 is a phone perfect for the individual who is serious and, at the same time, fun. You'll never get stressed out with this small but versatile phone, and it will surely never let you down. Just imagine yourself with a life without fun. It's like life without the D510, stuck in traffic, and surrounded by boredom.
