Nokia ushers in era of mobile VoIP
BARCELONA, Spain — Finnish telecom giant Nokia has fully embraced IP (Internet Protocol) convergence when it introduced a breakthrough technology that bridges two of the world’s most ubiquitous wireless standards - GSM and WLAN.
NTC under fire from lawmakers for 3G license award, number portability
Congress is set to tackle in a public hearing this March 1 two resolutions deploring the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) for granting 3G licenses without public bidding and another two bills calling for the implementation of number portability among cellular phone subscribers in the country.
Last minute cancellation
The State of National Emergency declared by Pres. Arroyo last Friday, February 24, caught Sun Microsystems Philippines president Cynthia Mamon off-guard that she decided to postpone at a later date the "Java in Manila" event that was supposed to be held this Tuesday, February 28.
