Back to drama
CONTRASTS and contradictions and a willingness to experiment and play with color marked this year’s Wella Trend Vision hair forecast show, held on Monday at the Rizal Ballroom of the Makati Shangri-La. In sharp contrast to past outings, where subtlety was prime, the 2006 trends highlighted shocks of color and bold combinations and cuts with a distinctive, look-at-me brashness, as executed by British stylist Beverly C., creative director of Essensuals, and international artistic director Stephen Glendinning, assisted by Nana Fischer and Antony Keen.

The appeal of WHITE
IF there is such a thing as a whiter shade of pale, then that may be the direction Filipino women and, as product trends indicate, women all over the world are heading to.

Fearless
I’ll have to admit my biases here at the onset. When there’s a movie trailer with a guy whose head is shaved in the front, and then hair grown long and braided in the back, and he’s wearing kung-fu shoes, and doing flying kicks and bouncing all over the place doing roundhouses and crazy flips, you’ll probably find me in line with all the other kung-fu movie fans. Doesn’t even matter to me what the movie is about, whether it got any good reviews, none of that matters, as long as I’m getting something that has a line like, "Do you think your tiger claw can match my dragon fist?" or, "Do you wanna try my kung-fu?" and a whole lot of kung-fu action.

Art. Love. Revolution.

Food for thought
RECENTLY, Lady’s Choice, that great company that told us how mayonnaise should be, posed this question: How creative are women? And as we celebrate National Women’s Month this March, it would be nice to hear again what they have to say about the matter.
