THE JABRA BT500 BLUETOOTH WIRELESS HEADSET
The first worry that came into the mind of this writer is how to review a Bluetooth Wireless Headset or BTWH for short. It always depends on the person's tastes and style because as we all know, one person's style can be another person's fashion faux pas.

Sony Ericsson W550i Walkman™ Phone
It was just inevitable. When electronics giant Sony Corporation and Telecommunications magnate Ericsson teamed up, it was no surprise that they would eventually come up with a line of mobile phones that would evidently demonstrate innovation in their experiences as individual companies. Ingeniously enough, Sony Ericsson is now reintroducing Sony’s Walkman™ brand by integrating it onto their mobile phones in a revolutionary new product line called the Sony Ericsson Walkman™ Phone.

OPENING PAGES
There is an ongoing debate at the US Congress on net neutrality. Net neutrality is what keeps the Internet open to all lawful content, information, applications, and equipment.

BLOG-O-RAMA
It was a year ago when MB's pioneering Technews section welcomed the idea of starting the first-ever newspaper column devoted to bloggers and their blogs. And so, we celebrate this milestone by revisiting the first Pinoy blogger whom we interviewed a year ago on the subject of "Retracing the Philippines' Blog History." Lauren Dado was only ten years old when she started her online journal which is still alive up to now via the Worldkids.net project. Now nineteen going on twenty and a sociology major at Ateneo de Manila, she continues to blog while downscaling those facets of her life she reveals online. Her thoughts on the death of the written word and other matters in the following interview:

REALITY BITES
For the record, I have been saying all along that any device that can be connected to the Internet are bound to be infected by malwares or are subject to intrusions. That mobile manufacturers should be concerned about this imminent dangers and should provide adequate protection to their users. Not to belittle mobile users, but majority of them are not as technical savvy as PC users that is why they are more prone to this kind of attacks.

Security Secrets And Strategies
Employees are ignoring Internet Acceptable Usage Policies (AUPs) according to a survey published today by network security provider SmoothWall. Despite the recognition by seven out of 10 companies that a AUP is crucial to the security of IT systems, 38 percent of employees that are governed by a policy are unaware of its contents.

Having Fun With I.T.
Since everyone is talking and creating blogs nowadays. Might as well talk about some things you can do to spice up your blogs. Rather than having only text, you can add videos and photos as part of your blog content.

LU! BEAT
Oh, the joys of playing ROSE Online! It wasn’t long ago when I first got my hands on Philippine ROSE Online (pROSE), a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) introduced here last year. I admit, I was no hardcore gamer until I joined Level Up! Inc. But thanks to the opportunity to actually handle the marketing for ROSE Online, I am now fully into the gaming culture – a culture so widespread that its own jargons have become common to most Filipino youth. (Mad props go to Ragnarok Online for bringing MMORPG to the center stage!)

Knowledge Box
1. Write with the reader in mind. Remember WIIFM? It's marketing jargon for What's In It For Me? That's what you should be keeping in mind. Your reader will read your post looking for what's in it for them.

HARDCODE
I was supposed to help a female graduating student, referred to me by a fellow blogger, with one of her course requirements. In fact, she was the one that first contacted me about the project she wanted done.

Of Macs & Tux
I always write about the Mac, Linux and other free and open source software (FOSS) on both platforms. Today, I am providing a list of FOSS that runs on MS Windows to wean you off of proprietary software. Some of the applications I am listing here can be downloaded as a CD image from TheOpenCD ( http:/www.theopencd.org/getcd ) but you can download each one individually, of course.

A couple of months back our IT administrator told me he had a new software I could use to update our website. He excitedly told me that it was a WYSIWYG and that I could do lots of things with our website like create polls and other stuff. I completely forgot about this brief conversation until I got a call from our programmer setting me up for an appointment so he could teach me Joomla. When the appointed day and time came, the programmer rang me up to remind me of my lessons. I thought the lesson was going to be held at their office but I was pleasantly surprised to have been told that the lesson will be held in the comfort of my office.
