Can a truly exciting, much anticipated and very successful annual event get even bigger?

Sure it can! Just ask NESTEA, which recently launched the 10th edition of the NESTEA Beach Volley competitions, an event that will surely shape the summer of 2006 into one sizzling and exciting season.

Presented during a recent press conference hosted by TV personality Geoff Rodriguez, the NESTEA Beach Volley 10 will showcase heart-stopping beach volley battles among the country’s best collegiate beach volley teams, as well as lots of thrilling parties, fashion shows, and concerts to be held in Manila and Boracay.

Gracing the launch were top honchos of Nestlé and NESTEA led by Nestlé senior vice president and business executive manager Eugene David, Nestlé VP for Marketing Promotions and Events Joey Quimbo, Nestlé AVP Head for Consumer Promos and Events Raymond Villaflor, Nestlé AVP and NESTEA Consumer marketing manager Tina Samaco, Nestlé Food Services NESTEA brand manager Jamie Lim, Nestlé Food Services Channel business executive Teng Joven and NESTEA brand events specialist Gabby Posadas.

Helping to make NESTEA Beach Volley 10 become grander is its partners, who were out in full force during the launch. Seen were Leni del Mendo and Emmy Buccat of Speedo, Mikasa’s Carol Bonifacio, Chat Alo and Michael Cui of Cebu Pacific, Wendy Perez, Cathy Barron, Carmen Rivera and Ninah Lee of Le Soleil de Boracay Hotel, Rose Cacho of Club Ten Resort, Jude Lee of Hey Jude! Resort, Rick Lopez of Villa de Oro Boracay Beach Resort and Schering-Plough Coppertone’s Geraldine Borromeo.

Also seen were Stuart Jenkins of D’Mall D’ Boracay, Catherine Posadas and Dara David of ClicktheCity.com, Cristina Beriña of Bantay Kalikasan ABS-CBN Foundation and Pocholo Santos and Johann Kwong of Nautilus by PJ Arañador.

"We’ll be turning up the heat several notches higher on our 10th year, as we will be having the country’s top beach volley teams competing for beach volley supremacy. Plus we’ll present a great deal of exciting activities, from parties, to concerts, to fashion shows in Manila and Boracay to make sure that this year’s affair lives up to its reputation as summer’s biggest event," says David.

La Salle Greenhills is the place to be for sizzling beach volley competition as 72 teams from 43 colleges and universities take to the sand courts for the elimination rounds scheduled on March 21 - 23 for the Luzon teams and March 28 - 30 for the Visayas and Mindanao teams. Winning teams then earn the privilege of competing in the semifinal and championship rounds on May 4 – 6, to be held in sunny Boracay.

Of course, the event’s not just going to be purely beach volley! NESTEA certainly pulled out all the stops to make summer of 2006 really sizzle, which is why Samaco says that NESTEA Beach Volley 10 will have a series of exhilarating activities, which began with the NESTEA Beach Volley Plunge Tour, a campus tour featuring lots of fun and prizes that was held in schools like UP Diliman, Ateneo and DLSU, among others.

Next, NESTEA Beach Volley 10 will have a major summer kick-off party dubbed NBV Serve to be held at the NBC Tent today, March 10 at 4 p.m. The event will feature a host of fun and exciting gimmicks, to be highlighted by the search for the NBV Team 10, and a concert by today’s hip bands like Hale, SpongeCola and Sugarfree.

Things get even more intense in Boracay as fashion shows and more pulsating parties take the summer scene to greater heights!

Feel the party heat at its most extreme level at the NBV Set Point, a victory party on May 6. Chill out as DJ Manolet Dario of NBK spins his unique brand of hip-grinding, infectious beats while the PMAP models make the runway sizzle courtesy of a hot fashion show. The highlight of the party is a concert headlined by no less than Bamboo!
