| Dumbbell Shrugs (Trapezius) |

The shrug is the upward rotary movement of the shoulder girdle which works on and contracts the trapezius muscle. The trapezius muscle is found at the upper shoulder/ back.

Hold the dumbbells with your shoulders and arms down on each side. Exhale as you shrug your shoulders and inhale as you bring it down. Do 10 to 15 repetitions of two to three sets.
Note: This exercises can also be done separately to isolate and emphasize the trapezius muscle or can be performed by the use of a barbell instead of a dumbbell.
