Balakubak Mountain

Yes you can call this portion BALAKUBAK (Balita at Kuwentong Bakla)... because last month, I was able to watch three, yes tatlo mga acheng na movies tungkol sa kabadingan—"Brokeback Mountain," a case where penis mightier than the gun." "Transamerica," where "penis lighter when it’s gone!" And my serious favorite of the three, "Where the Truth Lies."

Of "Brokeback," I’ve had fun of joking especially the gays who watched it. I would say that it’s a movie about betrayal. Of course, magtataasan ang mga kilay ng mga bruha at magtataka. And they would start doubting whether I really saw the movie and worse, dedebatihin na ako. And then the punchline—"O, di ba, they always stab in the back?" Some would take a longer time to get the joke. They should have titled it Pokeback Mountain.

Personally, I like "Transamerica" a little more than "Brokeback." Perfect casting for Huffman (half–man). And didn’t you notice too that "Felicity" also means the quality of state of being gay! What coincidence! But seriously, Felicity Huffman’s role is hard.

"Where the Truth Lies" stars Kevin Bacon (wow, bacon naman! Ano ba’yan?). This is about two showbiz best friends in the fifties. A real action–thriller about girls, booze and drugs, kaya pagpasok nung bading shock nito, surprise talaga. Hindi mo aakalain. Almost pa-ending na.

Now, if you’re asking if "Brokeback Mountain" was the first cowboy movie about gays, well, I guess it is so—the first western where the characters swing west and east!

And did you ever wonder what if some of the Western classics were "gay" and so written? Then the lawman would be a she–riff! And the outlaw would be really out na outlaw! Now let’s see...

Gary Cooper’s "High Noon" would be "High Heels Noon!"

Clint Eastwood would have "The Good, the Bad and the Beautiful!"

The Newman–Redford tandem would star in Bitch Cassidy and the Song and Dance Kid!

Yul Brynner and six of his gaymates would be known as "The Magnificent Semen!"

John Wayne’s "True Grit" would be "True Grace!"

And Richard Harris would portray "A Man Called Horse (And At Night, Portia)!"

And what about the other action movies?

The late Christopher Reeves would fly with a pink cape and call himself "Sperman!"

Schwarzenegger would be a screaming robot called "Sperminator!"

And Warren Beatty would be "Dick Crazy!"

And of course, locally we’ll have Supermanay and Talong Ranger!

And don’t forget "Nuts Entertainment" tonight on GMA–7.
