At least 92 traffic enforcers manning choke points in different areas in Parañaque City attended a briefing to familiarize themselves on the new traffic code in the city.
Mayor Florencio Bernabe stressed the need for the personnel of the city’s Traffic Management Office (TMO), headed by Rodolfo Llamas, so that they will become familiar with the details of the city’s new traffic code.
"Through this briefing, our traffic endorsers would be able to know the provisions of the ordinance and effectively implement them,’’ Bernabe said.
The mayor said that the lecture will also help traffic enforcers in honing their skills, developing better attitudes and acquiring new techniques to keep the streets safe.
Bernabe said Llamas, who led the briefing, explained the complementing facets of traffic engineering, education and enforcement.
Traffic Enforcement Group headed by Supt. Nelson Andrade cited the importance of discipline, courtesy and good judgment by traffic enforcers, during the seminar.
Bernabe said that Las Piñas City Traffic bureau head, Chief Insp. Erma Marquez, who was invited to share her ideas, also cited traffic management techniques which she said are being implementing in Las Piñas City.
Marquez said that the traffic enforcers are usually given advice before they are deployed to different areas.
She said the traffic situation in Las Piñas is no longer a big problem after the city started to implementits own traffic code based on a city ordinance.
