A 30-year-old man was shot dead by about 30 men allegedly high on drugs while he was talking with his friend in Tondo, Manila the other night.
Slain was Gerald Manago, jobless, and resident of 113 Quezon St., Don Bosco, Tondo, Manila. He died while being treated at the Mary Johnston Hospital due to a bullet wound in the head.
Witnesses said he was shot by one of the 30 attackers using an improvised shotgun.
Detective Paul Dennis Javier, of Manila Police District- Homicide Section, said the victim and his unnamed friend were talking in front of the victim’s house when about 30 men arrived at 10:30 p.m. Monday.
One of the men who was armed with a shotgun fired shot at the victim, hitting him in the head.
After seeing the victim fell to the ground bathed in his own blood, the assailants fled.
Police are yet to establish the motive of the killing. ‘’The shooting was so sudden. They seemed to be high on drugs. We are still determining the identities of the assailants. We have already a lead as to the identity of the gunman,’’ said Javier. (Jeamma E. Sabate)
