Omer Dungca and Noel Bartolome Jr. bested almost 40 rivals to rule their respective classes in the 2006 Nueva Ecija 4x4 Challenge, sanctioned by the Luzon 4x4 Federation and sponsored by Petron Rev-X and Silverwind, held at the Barangay Valdefuente in Cabanatuan City.
Relying on his vast experience, Dungca drove his Jeep around the 700 meter-long course – 300 meters of which ran through a river – to set the fastest time of four minutes and 14.50 seconds (4:14.50) to take victory in the 4-cylinder class.
Arthur Ascuna cruised to second place in his Jeep with 4:14.88 ahead of Dante Dungca, who posted 4:16.32.
Jerry Cabatativo and Bomvet Santos rounded out the top five with 4:35.72 and 4:42.44, respectively.
In the 6-cylinder class, Noel Bartolome, Jr. captured first place with a time of 4:27.72. Finishing second was Joey Millianado with a 4:29.79, while Raul Garcia took third with 4:31.78. Fourth and fifth place went to RB Paguia (4:33.97) and Larry Camato (4:39.18), respectively.
All top five placers drove a Toyota Land Cruiser.
