A group of eight OLOPSC senior and junior scouts formed part of Marikina’s contingent in the Joint Central Luzon Region and the National Capital Region Jamborette held at the Industrial Park, Subic, Olongapo City last December 26-30, 2005. They were Jeffrey Sabado, Cyrille Santiago, Amante Buenafe, Aaron Natividad, Benedict Torrente, Jaybeeson Jagong, Ian Daniel Angeles and Kevin Nabong. They were chaperoned by adult leaders and teachers, namely Arnulfo Araneta, Corie Kaine Nadiahan, Elda Mortega , Cecil Hernandez, Ryzza Flores and Metro Manila East Council Scouting Coordinator Marijo Flores.
Working under the theme "Scouting, A Program of Today’s Youth for a Better Tomorrow", the five-day affair proved to be a productive outdoor experience far from the comforts and conveniences of home, where the scouts’ physical fitness was challenged, and where they trained on emergency preparedness, livelihood and survival skills to cope with real life .No time wasted was wasted, as the experience gave the scouts a sense of purpose fulfilled and made them not just better followers and leaders, but friends, as well.
Six OLOPSC Scouts were also part of the Marikina – Incheon Scouts’ Camp held at the Marikina Campsite, last month. They were Jeffrey Sabado, Dionisio Salvador III, Paolo Macariola, Stefan Rodriguez, Amante Buenafe and Henry Prile. Scout Master Ed Santie chaperoned the scouts.
