Quezon City Councilor (District 4) Resty B. Malangen – acting on the request of tricycle operators and drivers plying within the city – has filed a measure urging owners of private emission testing centers to reduce their service fees from P300 to P200.
The members and officers of the various Tricycle Operators and Drivers Associations (TODA) said the R300 service fee "is a burden on our part on account of the recent increase in the prices of oil and petroleum products, spare parts and other basic items."
Malangen said the P100 reduction would surely help the TODA members augment their meager income to sustain the financial needs of their families.
Under the Land Transportation Office law, private and public motor vehicles are required to undergo smoke emission tests as a prerequisite for registration. (Sel A. Baysa)
