A suspected drug pusher who is also suspected of having for possible links with the Abu Sayyaf was arrested in his house in Muntinlupa City during a police buy-bust operation early yesterday morning.
Ronald Khalid, 24, was arrested in his house at Purok 1 Extension, Alabang, Muntinlupa City. Police recovered from the suspect one homemade shotgun, an undetermined amount of suspected "shabu" and other drug paraphernalia.
Also arrested were three other suspected drug users identified as Saleds Hamdag, 16, of No. 20 Balbanero Compound, Alabang; Vincent Torre Palma, 24, Block 6 Lot 58, Purok 4, Alabang; and businessman Harold Capol, 27, 7453 Champaca St., Marcelo Green Village, Paranaque.
Sr. Supt. Juvenile Sulapas, officer-in-charge of the city’s Station Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (SAID-SOTF), said Khalid, who was under surveilance since 2005 for his involvement in illegal drugs trade, was sighted going in and out of Mindanao on several occasions.
Police said an informant tipped them off of Khalid’s return to Muntinlupa from Mindanao which prompted the authorities to arrange the buy-bust operation.
Sulapas also said there were reports that Khalid also acts as "triggerman" of certain criminal syndicates operating in the area of Muntinlupa.
On the other hand, police would not yet identify the four other suspected drug pushers Khalid identified during interrogation so as not to alert them.
Sulapas disclosed that police peratives are now on the trail of four other suspected drugt pushers operating in the areas of Tunasan, Poblacion, Bayanan and Sucat.
He said the suspects’ names are being withehld pending their arrests.
