Ford Group Philippines recently donated two Ford Ranger 4x4 pickups to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) as its contribution to the Leyte landslide relief efforts in a simple ceremony at the car manufacturer’s Sta. Rosa, Laguna plant.
The Rangers will be used in transporting relief goods as well as transport service to DSWD personnel providing counseling for survivors.
"We at Ford are greatly moved and concerned to see the condition of the residents of St. Bernard. Ford is strongly committed in helping people and we take social responsibility seriously. This is the reason why upon seeing the report, we immediately identified possible ways to do our share in helping the people of St. Bernard," said Don Gelinas, vice president for Finance, Ford Group Philippines.
The vehicles were formally turned over by Ford Group Philippines’ Don Gelinas (3rd from left), VP for Human Resources Noel dela Paz and Government and Corporate Affairs assistant vice president Cherry Ramirez. Receiving them from DSWD are Secretary Esperanza Cabral (2nd from right), Undersecretary Lualhati Pablo and property management division chief Nicomedes Suller.
