If last year’s 2nd Annual Ramon Magsaysay Golf Cup was a resounding success, with golfers from various business and political sectors hitting off their clubs, this year’s tournament is one for the books!
Organized by Asian Vision Cable Holdings, Inc. (AVCH), the 3rd Annual Ramon Magsaysay Cup was held last March 6 at the Ayala Greenfield Estate Golf and Leisure Club in Calamba, Laguna.
Proceeds of the tournament will benefit the youth of the Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation (RMAF). This year, the foundation plans to hold the Magsaysay Fellowship program, the school’s partnership program and the Ramon Magsaysay Student Essay Competition.
These projects provide learning experiences to popularize the lifework of Magsaysay awardees and to connect the leadership legacy of the much-loved Filipino leader and the laureates who perpetuate his example among the young. Essentially, it will open doors for the next generation to grow steeped in good values and a sense of civic spiritedness, the kind that nurture "greatness of spirit in selfless service to the people," the tradition of Asia’s premier prize – the Ramon Magsaysay Award.
The event was co-presented by ACCION, AYALA Foundation, CCAP, Citibank, Globe Telecom, HBO/Cinemax, Oishi, Royal Cablevision Inc., Southern Cross Cement, and San Miguel Corp.
