1. Describe an Edward Teng creation
My creation would have intricate beadwork so much so, the fabrics I use are comfortable. I also design my own fabric; airbrush the colors on them. Comfort is the key to an Edward Teng creation.

For my client to look beautiful. If I think a particular design would look good on her, I would definitely create something for her with such design.
3. Who inspires you?
My mother. While growing up I saw how she made gowns meticulously but beautifully. Since she she cuts and sews, I decided to be on the creative side of the business. Everytime I design a gown, I’m reminded of how she used to do it.
4. Who is your style icon?
The late Joe Salazar because his creations are as memorable as his name. His designs never run out of date.
5. What differences do you see in brides today from those of the time you started designing?
A lot. Brides of today are already conscious of the trends, fashion and they also know what they want. Unlike before, brides are conservative (they don’t like experimenting on fashion) and opt to fit their wedding gowns only on the day of their wedding (because of traditional purposes).
6. What trends do you forsee for this year?
For this year, wedding gowns would have simple cuts while maintaining a dainty appeal. It would be embellished with Swarovski crystals and bead works with a touch of their color motif.
