This comes after the Armed Forces of the Philippines had quelled the threats of military adventurism fuelled by persistent questions on the legitimacy of her assumption to office and subsequent calls for her to step down which continue to hound her administration and set back the country's economic gains.

Former Social Welfare Secretary Corazon ‘Dinky’ Soliman (left) is placed in the custody of former President Corazon C. Aquino (right) by the Manila City Prosecutor’s Office after Soliman’s arrest for ‘illegal assembly’ while walking at Manila’s Baywalk Friday night. Mrs. Aquino immediately went to visit Soliman at the police headquarters when she learned of the arrest.
