URDANETA CITY, Pangasinan — This city will celebrate its eighth anniversary as a chartered city on March 21, Mayor Amadeo R. Perez Jr. said yesterday.
Perez said that various activities will be held in observance of the anniversary starting today. Today’s highlight is a mass wedding.
Tomorrow, a thanksgiving mass will be celebrated at 7 a.m., followed by the parade at 8 a.m., ending with the drum and lyre competition at 10 a.m.
The highlight of tomorrow’s activities is the coronation of Little Mr. and Miss Urdaneta City 2006 at 7 p.m.
Perez said that on March 22, there will be a San Miguel Beer Street Party for the youth sponsored by the city government and on March 23, a Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) game between the San Miguel Beermen and Red Bull will be held at the Urdaneta City Cultural and Sport Center.
He said that on April 1 and 2, a mobile passporting service will be held.
"As we celebrate our eighth charter anniversary, Urdaneta is moving forward to its growth and I’m proud to say that it is a peaceful and orderly city in the north," Perez said.
