A heady mix of intense school spirit and summer fun served up Nestea's NBV Serve summer kick off party held at the NBC Tent in The Fort.

Students from 30 schools, which included Adamson University, Assumption College, Ateneo, Centro Escolar University, College of St. Benilde, De La Salle University, Far Eastern University, Lyceum of the Philippines, Manuel L. Quezon University, Mapua Institute of Technology, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, St. Scholastica’s College, San Beda College, University of the East, University of the Philippines and University of Santo Tomas - all had a blast during the party, as popular bands Sugarfree, Hale and SpongeCola brought the house down with their chart-topping hits.

"The NBV Serve summer kick off party is a perfect activity to start and another exciting and fun-filled summer," says Nestle AVP and Nestea consumer marketing manager Tina Samaco.

"This being the 10th year of Nestea Beach Volley, we certainly will go out of our way to make sure everyone makes this season a Nestea summer, which is fun and memorable," adds Samaco.

Among the highlights of the party was the search for the NBV Team 10, which saw 31 gorgeous students from different schools take to the catwalk garbed in summer’s hottest looks from Nautilus by PJ Arañador and Speedo.

Out of the stunning candidates who were showcased during the fashion show, five guys and five gals were chosen to be part of NBV Team 10, which will be flown to Boracay on May for a chance to share the runway spotlight with the PMAP models, as well as enjoy the NESTEA Beach Volley 2006—summer’s biggest event. What’s more, the winners of NBV Team 10 automatically become junior image models of Nautilus by PJ Arañador.

The winning gals were Lin Shan of DLSU, Rachell Siapco of Lyceum, Mary Tan of College of St. Benilde, Melanie Umali of San Beda College and Michelle Bañez of PUP. Joining them are the guys led by Lyceum’s Lemuelle Pelayo, CSB’s Raphael Bediones and Naeem Badr and PUP’s Zigmund Nicolas and Melchor Faustino.

On the other hand, the cheering squads of Rizal Technological University, Philippine Christian University and PUP provided electrifying performances in the cheerdance competition. PUP took home the trophy, as well as the award for the Biggest School Delegation.
