Arlyn shares that there is only one rule that guides them as the events and news of the day unfolds in their day to day operation: Get the other side, the third and the fourth too as much as possible.

"You can never go wrong when you complete the picture and dig on the other sides of the story especially if it’s a controversial one," said Arlyn.

Now going on its third year, Newsbeat found a niche in being the only newscast collectively produced by anchors, reporters, writers and even camerapersons trained to the current practice in most international news agencies: multi-tasking.

"Our reporters edit their own stories using the latest in digital editing technology, our cameramen can be deployed on their own, asks the questions and write and voice the reports for the newscast," elaborates Onin.

Shared responsibility and tasking in producing the newscast makes the team formidable. You will not hear anyone say, "It’s not my job."

On their third year, Arlyn said that Newsbeat will soon air new segments that can be considered revolutionary and groundbreaking in Philippine primetime newscast.

"We’ll keep it under our sleeves for now but will unveil it by the third quarter of this year," related Arlyn.
