The Perpetualites - 30 years as helpers of God
Driven with the intense desire of promoting a better quality of life for his fellowmen, Dr. Antonio Laperal Tamayo, anchored the University of Perpetual Help Dalta (formerly Perpetual Help College of Rizal) on the creed "Character Building is Nation Building." Stressing this belief, he said: "Our young can only be assured of a better tomorrow by building the right kind of character today – respectful, hardworking and committed to the formation of a prosperous and wealthy nation. This development, however, will need a requisite Christian character, that will build a nation."
Today, Dr. Tamayo, chairman of the board and CEO, together with Dr. Daisy Tamayo, president, with able assistance of their two sons, Anthony and Richard, who are the Chairman of the Presidential Management Staff and Vice President for Administration respectively, is at the helm of the university.
An active catalyst for change and a dynamic business partner in the growth and development of the communities of Las Piñas and its environs, the University has provided jobs to many of the constituents of the city, having a workforce complement of about 2,000 faculty and non-teaching personnel taking care of more than 22,000 students.
